In this line of work, our rail gauge expertise/geekiness make us the best at what we do. Unfortunately, people tend to get bored of our conversation down at the local, but we’ve come to terms with that.
Our broad in-depth experience of the rail sector is second-to-none and rail gauges, for on and off track use, are calibrated and certified to Network Rail Group Standards and Technical Standards TM/TT/0017 and MT 288.
Did you know: When Bristol promoters planned a locomotive line from London, they employed the innovative engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel. He decided on a wider gauge, to give greater stability, and the Great Western Railway adopted a gauge of 7 ft (2,134 mm). This became known as broad gauge.
When it comes to track maintenance and renewals, we supply, calibrate and repair a full range of track gauges, including (but not limited to):
- Cross Level Transfer Gauge
- Super Elevation Gauge
- Super Elevation Gauge Folding
- Combo SE/LT Gauge
- Combo SE/LT Gauge Folding
- Non Possession Platform Gauge
- Track Spread Gauge
- Sighting Board Set
- Side Cut Gauge
- Versine Measurement Set
- Inclinometer Data Logging
- Rail/Rod Height and Stagger Gauge
- 3rd & 4th Rail Gauge
- Switch Side Wear Gauge
- Rail Thermometers
Pressure gauges and switches, old and new, can be refurbished and overhauled in accordance with the latest WOSS – and the same applies to speedometers.
